The RectorSeal Corporation Acquires Clean Check, Inc., Manufacturer of Patented Backwater Valves

Business Wire, March 16, 2007

HOUSTON — The RectorSeal Corporation, a Houston-based manufacturer of specialty chemical products and tools for the construction trades, has purchased the assets of Clean Check, Inc., a Hayden, Idaho, manufacturer with a unique line of patented extendable backwater valves. Larry Kaiser, Director of Sales for RectorSeal, commented, “We feel that the Clean Check[TM] product line will be a great addition and fit with the DWV system products RectorSeal already offers to plumbing contractors. We are ideally positioned to expand the distribution of this innovative product.”

Clean Check[TM] valves prevent sewage backup into a residence or building as a result of a plugged sewer system, excess volume in the system or groundwater flooding. They are designed to be installed easily outside a home, business or other structure, without using a costly manhole, and are readily accessible for maintenance or cleaning. The extendable valves consist of a tee-shaped valve body, a top collar and a bottom collar with a replaceable PVC flapper attached. In the event of back-pressure, the flapper blocks the reverse flow and prevents a sewage backup. Clean Check[TM] valves are available in ABS and PVC and in multiple sizes, to meet the needs of most residential and commercial construction
